"Many thanks to Barbara Begnel (Buckley) for designing and maintaining this

web site! This was/is a lot of work - you've done a fanstastic job and

have a lot to be proud of. Having worked on the first reunion I wish we

had something this advanced and available to us. I can only imagine this

site will make communication and planning much easier, as well as a

reference for all of us to learn more about what's going on with the

reunion and how to contact others in our class. Thanks again Barb!

I'd like to echo Geoff and thank Barb for taking this on. It won't be an easy job and you've got to admire her guts for it. I remember Geoff looked pretty ragged by Saturday night in 1995 -- I'm sure that, just from a communication standpoint, it'll be a lot easier this time around. At least I hope so. I'll help in any way I can.
You know, as probably one of the only journalists in the class I've got to mention something. The News Journal story about the Titan dynasty is really good, except for one glaring point: I'm sure Emmitt Smith wasn't a freshman when he and Escambia broke our streak on Sept. 13, 1985. He was more like a junior by then; he was a freshman phenom when we were all sophomores. And I'm pretty sure I remember Jeff DeWeese (or somebody, but I think it was Jeff) landing a hell of a hit on him in the 1984 game. Gotta love the News Journal. OK, so that didn't have anything to do with the reunion, but I had to get that off my chest.
And here's a sobering thought: Sharpe was roughly the age we all are now when he became coach at Woodham. Wow.

Dear Barbara,

Please accept a heartfelt thank you for having invited me to the Class of '85 reunion.  It was a wonderful evening for me to see and visit with you and with your classmates.  It provided me the opportunity to reminisce and to get caught up on the changes that have occurred in the lives of my friends.  I felt that everyone went out of their way to make me feel welcome.  I will treasure the memory of these hours that we shared together.

Please feel free to share with the Class of '85 my personal email address (epwillis@cox.net) and my professional email address (wwillis@escambia.k12.fl.us).  I would love to hear from them as they have the time and opportunity to share with me.  Whenever your class next plans a reunion, if I am still around, I would be honored to join you in your celebration).

God bless you and your family,
Bill Willis
